Salary: £18,000 plus a £3,000 joining bonus

Join the Electronic Engineering department for a chance to play a fundamental role in bringing together MBDA’s missile systems: designing and integrating the electronics that drive our Weapon Control Units, Actuators, Telemetry & Communication Systems and more.
Our four-year programme for Electrical Engineering Apprentices is a fantastic opportunity for you to join an accredited engineering scheme that has developed some of the leading engineering apprentices in the UK.
The Electronic Engineering function manages the design and delivery of high technology electronic products for our projects. Our expertise includes:
• On board missile equipment such a weapon controllers, fin actuators, safety systems and data links
• Firing control units for land, naval and airborne platforms
• Automatic test equipment
• Electrical equipment
• Training simulators
• Countermeasures equipment
You will study towards a BEng (Hons) Electrical and Electronic Engineering at The University of Hertfordshire for 4 years, which will be fully funded by MBDA.
Your work week will consist of one day study leave to attend university, with the remaining four days completing rotational placements within the Electronic Engineering department as well as Mechanical Engineering and more general placements, such as ISP and datalinks. You’ll get some lab experience, as well as the opportunity to create programs for SMT line and NPI work (New Product Introduction). You’ll also have the opportunity to complete external placements outside of MBDA, with our external contractors and suppliers.

What we’re looking for from you:
This role has specific qualification and subject criteria so please make sure you carefully check your eligibility against this criteria before applying. We will not be able to consider applications from anyone that does not meet the following requirements:
• 5 x GCSES including Maths & English Language & Science/Technology (all sciences or IT) at Grade 9 - 4
In addition to, 120 UCAS achieved through:
• 3 B's or ABC at A level including Maths AND Physics or Technology or an Engineering subject. There is no specific grade requirement for maths.
• T-Level at Merit or Distinction in an Engineering subject
• BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Engineering at a minimum grade of DDM including a Distinction in Further Maths module.
We look at entry criteria based on your top three full A Levels or equivalent qualifications (BTEC/T Level). We do not include UCAS points gained from an Extended Project Qualification. Additionally, as an employer we set our own entry criteria based on the requirements of this role. This means that the criteria above can differ from the university/college standard.
