Health and Safety Apprenticeship
Job Description
What you’ll be doing:
The Health and Safety Apprentice will support the Group Health and Safety Manager in developing and implementing Direct Line Groups’ Health and Safety Strategy, Governance, and Health and Safety Culture by creating processes, procedures, and monitoring performance across the group.
The key purpose of the role is to learn about H&S Regulations and how they apply to a dynamic and fast paced business like Direct Line Group.
In this role you will:
·Undertake relevant H&S training and put the knowledge gained into practice.
·Work to the criteria of the Level 3 Technician in Safety, Health, and Environment.
·Attend H&S meetings and Committees and set agendas, take minutes, log and track actions arising.
·Participate in accident / incident and near miss investigations as needed.
·Participate in audit and inspection programmes across the group.
·Provide support in collating evidence and drafting accident, incident and near miss reports.
·Create audit reports and management information to be used for Exec H&S Committee and Risk Management Board.
·Support the implementation of the H&S module on the new CAFM Holistic business system.
·Redesign and launch the H&S Pages on the Hub, create content for H&S Newsletters and internal communication systems.
·Support meetings with external providers of Occupational Health and EAP and collate the data into usable management information for the business.

To be eligible to apply for this apprenticeship you will:
·Have 5 GCSE’s (or equivalent) including English & Maths A*-C (9-4) which you’ll need to be able to evidence. However, if you have extenuating circumstances please do get in touch.
