A JLR Advanced Apprenticeship provides an excellent opportunity to broaden your mind learning the latest concepts and technologies at college, and then applying your learning on real life projects.  

We’ll open your eyes to the future of automotive technology, giving you a platform to make a real difference to JLR and our customers, whilst enabling you to complete your level 3 apprenticeship and achieve a vocational qualification relevant to your apprentice programme. 

Halewood  

Halewood is home to the iconic Range Rover Evoque and Discovery Sport and is central to our manufacturing operations. Whether you focus on body, paint, trim and final, launch or Materials, Planning and Logistics, you will experience the end-to-end production of our vehicles.

This is an exciting time to join Halewood, as we develop the new generation of electric cars, which will be delivered in 2025. This landmark launch will bring together diverse technologies to realise our innovative Electrical Modular Architecture (EMA) platform – and you can play your part in making it happen.

Global Manufacturing Engineering (GME)

Our GME team supports the projects and innovation that enables our JLR Reimagine Strategy across our global locations. Join us and you will be responsible for the design, installation and commissioning of manufacturing facilities and processes to build the modern luxury vehicles of the future. You will be working with stakeholders across our enterprise including product engineering, procurement and manufacturing operations to implement new products, processes and equipment whilst driving future technology development.

We have opportunities across all our core technologies; Body Construction Engineering, Paint engineering, Final Assembly Engineering, Powertrain Engineering, Stampings Engineering, Logistics Engineering & Construction Engineering, as well as roles within our dimensional systems and manufacturing research teams that work across all technologies.

If you enjoy problem solving and being at the heart of making things happen then our GME roles will give you the opportunity to work throughout the end-to-end product lifecycle, with multiple stakeholders internally and externally, and managing large capital investment change into our plants. Quickly gaining real-world experience, you will play a key role in transforming our brands as we realise our future business transformation.

The Apprenticeship  

The Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship – Manufacturing is an exciting four-year programme which will develop your practical skills and cultivate the knowledge you need for your role, including business behaviours such as team working and problem-solving.    

Your apprenticeship pathway will depend upon the area of the business in which you will be based. You will be asked for your preference on business area ahead of attending an assessment with us.  

In your first year, your time will be spent studying at our education provider and working at a JLR plant alongside members of our skilled teams. In subsequent years, you will predominantly work in the plant, and you’ll continue your studies leading up to your End Point Assessment. Throughout your apprenticeship, you will have constant guidance and support from both the business and the training provider. 

Your education provider will be Make UK, operating out of North West Training Council, Unit 33 Wellington Employment Park, Dunes Way Liverpool L5 9RJ.

WHAT’S REQUIRED?  

You will need to have achieved or be on track to achieve GCSE Maths and English Language at level 4 (C) alongside three further GCSEs at level 4 (C) or higher, including one STEM (science, technology, engineering or maths) subject or an Engineering vocational qualification at level 3/90 credits/540 GLH or higher.
