"Our Summit ONE in Farnborough is home to the National Sales Company for the BMW Group in the UK, as well as BMW Group Financial Services which offers retailers, corporate and private customers a range of customised financial services. Alphabet (GB) Ltd. as a leading provider of Business Mobility Services is also located in Farnborough. We decided in November 2020 to bring together BMW Financial Services and Alphabet to stay relevant to our customers and continue to succeed in a rapidly changing business environment.

The Accounting Services Team within the Finance department perform several critical business functions for the UK and Irish Financial Services businesses each day. These include making payments, processing payment and collection files, cash allocation to customer agreements, bank reconciliations and APAR (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable) activities including paying key suppliers.
Core daily tasks of the Accounting Services and Tax team are detailed below.
Allocation of payments to Customer ledgers
Daily bank reconciliations
Processing of payment and collection files
Processing and payment of supplier invoices
Raising invoices for payment
Processing Retailer Commission payments and statements
Your Training-

The BMW Group offers an 18 month level 3 apprenticeship commencing in August 2023. As an apprentice at BMW Financial Services, you will have the opportunity to study while gaining real life financial experience.

You will be supporting the team with a range of tasks, including but not limited to:
Ensuring business critical payment and collection files are generated and approved in accordance with business Authorisation Policies.
Liaising with external banking partners as well as the BMW Global Payment Platform to ensure payment and collection files are processed correctly and in accordance with BACS Scheme rules.

Allocation of payments received in from Customers to our Retail Contract Management System.
Bank reconciliation across a number of bank accounts.

Investigation of unallocated payments to ensure cash postings are made to the correct accounting nominals in a timely manner.
Processing and payment of invoices received from business suppliers in line with purchasing procedures.
Calculation and payment of Retailer Commission payments and preparation of supporting statements
Preparation of accounts receivable invoices and liaising with third parties to ensure payments are received in a timely manner.
Review of Aged Debtors and Aged Creditors ledgers.

Assisting the wider Finance team with projects as required including testing for new system implementation.
Reviewing and updating business policy and procedure documentation.
