Job Description

TheDentons Now to Next Scholarship is a national student scholarship schemedesigned for students of Black, African or Caribbean heritage (includingapplicants of mixed-race with Black African or Black Caribbean heritage), whoattended state school, and are starting on a qualifying law degree in the UK orIreland in September 2026.

It is designed to support underrepresented law students financially and provideopportunities to develop their interest in a career in law. Our Now to Nextscholars will be provided with a scholarship of £2,500 per annum during theirthree-year undergraduate England and Wales or Common Law qualifying law degree.

Alongside this financial support, scholars will be guaranteed a place on Dentons Open Days, gain access to mentoring, and regularly meet with our Early Careers team and trainees. They will develop their understanding of commercial law through various opportunities to build connections with legal professionals and insight events.

 

Eligibility:

Applications are welcome from students of Black, African or Caribbean heritage(including applicants of mixed-race with Black African or Black Caribbean heritage)who:

- Attend, and have attended from aged 11, a state-funded non-fee paying school/college in the UK or an independent/fee paying school through a bursary scheme in the UK.
- Intend to complete a full-time undergraduate law degree in England, Wales or Scotland (either an England & Wales qualifying law degree or a Common Law degree in Scotland), but have not commenced one yet.
- Hold a strong academic record.
